Welcome to the Planning and Zoning Commission!
We hope you find the meetings to be helpful and informative.
  1. Regular Planning and Zoning Meetings are typically held the first Thursday of each month at 6pm January and July meetings may differ due to the holidays. The official schedule can be found on the city's calendar
  2. Agendas are published and posted on the front entrance of City Hall at least 48hrs before scheduled meetings and can be found digitally on the city's website, Facebook page, and X.
  3. Public Comments are allowed for any individual who wishes to address the Commission, on any subject other than public hearings, during the meeting item Public Comments which will be identified by the chairperson. Audience participation is not typically allowed outside this time. Workshops are designed for Commission discussion only and will not include Public Comment. 
    • Each speaker will be allowed a maximum of three (3) minutes to speak
    • Please refrain from repetitive and/or abusive comments
    • Commission cannot act upon any topic not listed in the agenda
    • During your turn to speak, please state your name and address for the record before starting your comment
  4. Public Hearing Comments are limited to the topic of the posted Public Hearing Item. The chairperson will announce the Public Hearing Item and open the comment period. Some meetings may contain more than one public hearing, please keep your comments related to the current open topic.
    • Each speaker will be allowed a maximum of three (3) minutes to speak
    • Please refrain from repetitive and/or abusive comments
    • Speak only on the topic of the open public hearing
    • During your turn to speak, please state your name and address for the record before starting your comment
  5. Chamber Etiquette
    • All cell phones and electronic devices should be silenced while present in the Chambers
    • Meetings are recorded and whispers carry, please hold all side conversations and gallery comments -including in the entryway, while the meeting is in progress
    • Please be respectful of meeting attendees, hostility will not be tolerated
